In light of all the bad “research” and the incessant quoting of Spurgeon, Tozer, and Piper I present my quote of the day.

What traditionalist authors have never done is to take up the numerous passages in support of (any topic that you are dogmatic about) then show where (any group you disagree with) have either misused the text, ignored the context, eliminated crucial information or added data not found in the Word of God itself. They have themselves, on the other hand, ignored the rich teaching of the Old Testament, falsely presumed a uniform intertestamental view, and interpreted the New Testament pictures and language on the basis of later philosophical tradition and ecclesiastical dogma rather than ordinary, accepted methods of scriptural exegesis.

Who is the quote attributed to, or is this a trick posting?

“What traditionalist authors have never done is to take up the numerous passages in support of (any topic that you are dogmatic about) then show where (any group you disagree with) have either misused the text, ignored the context, eliminated crucial information or added data not found in the Word of God itself.”

Actually this done here more than anywhere else I have visited.

“They have themselves, on the other hand, ignored the rich teaching of the Old Testament,”

I get criticized for using the OT so much in my songwriting and teaching.

“falsely presumed a uniform intertestamental view, ”

Uh the bible is one complete Word from alpha to omega.

“and interpreted the New Testament pictures and language on the basis of later philosophical tradition and ecclesiastical dogma rather than ordinary, accepted methods of scriptural exegesis.”

The only exegesis is literally, by revelation of the Holy Spirit.

God is the literal author,Jesus is the literal content and the Holy Spirit literally brings the interpretation, else it is not the Word of God.
BTW if this is gnosticism then Jesus was a gnostic.
