quotes for the ages there. Kind of new ageish
I’m sorry, one more:
OK, one more:
Someone should alert the supporters of apprising?? and ??network of the dangerous gnosticism and man centered worship found in this song.
This song always cheers me up! Or is that tears me up? Either way; I love it.
Maybe I’ll light some candles tonight and play it for my wife. Does this song make Ken a prurient person (I refuse to call him a pastor)?
Joe, you are a jerk. You should examine yourself by scripture and see if you are even in Christ.
You mock a brother in Christ.
Thanks John,
I appreciate your thoughts. I’m not mocking Ken, I’m mocking his song. As Ken has often said, “If you put it out there…”
BTW, if head on over to your blog am I going to find you mocking people? Calling them demeaning names? And don’t even go there about me refusing to call him pastor. That office is reserved for people who actually exhibit certain characteristics.
BTW, John,
Have a great day.
BTW, John, what do you think your response would be if Rob Bell, Tony Jones, or Dan Kimball put songs like this up on the internet
PB:
Your protests ring rather hollow in light of posts like this:

Are you really upset? Or is this all a game?
#5 – (I refuse to call him a pastor)
Not only is that unnecessary, it is the same thing that others do toward your pastor. Same coin, different sides.
Thank you Rick.
I understand the sentiment Ken is expressing, but I’ve never liked praise songs that sound more like love songs.
Honestly, this post does strike me as a cheap shot. I hope it wasn’t meant to be sarcastic…
Just because KS and the like have a ton of material worth being skewered over with out this.
Not a cheap shot. Really it is your Friday musical break. I rather like the song.
Cool.

Serious question: are you sure this is a praise song and not a love song? I mean why the whole if you never take a chance girl line and all…
What characteristics are those? Are they like…guarding the flock through proper interpretation of scripture? Would that include making sure your pulpit is filled with those who actually believe the Bible? Would it include a bold witness for Christ wherever one goes? Would one need to know how to interpret Greek or Hebrew properly if they were going to use it?
Guess I better reconsider calling Rob Bell a pastor also….
Hey John, whatever helps you get through the day. If that helps, you do what you gotta do. Enjoy your Saturday. Don’t be lonely…
Umm…KS has a flock? Really?
PB, you know very well that those things you list are not the exhaustive realities of a pastor.
In reality those are activities that are entrusted to leaders who exhibit certain character traits.
Joe has a point…
Besides, if I have a choice between a mean spirited jerk who may be right about some things or a Christ like kind hearted people lover who may be wrong about some things, I’ll take the latter…since no one has a perfect theology and, in some sense, we’re all heretics in one way or another.
Once again, you’ve put the cart before the horse.
PB (#6):
Crap, now I gotta go out and buy a new irony meter. Mine just blew out.
