I understand the sentiment Ken is expressing, but I’ve never liked praise songs that sound more like love songs.

Serious question: are you sure this is a praise song and not a love song? I mean why the whole if you never take a chance girl line and all…
What characteristics are those? Are they like…guarding the flock through proper interpretation of scripture? Would that include making sure your pulpit is filled with those who actually believe the Bible? Would it include a bold witness for Christ wherever one goes? Would one need to know how to interpret Greek or Hebrew properly if they were going to use it?
Guess I better reconsider calling Rob Bell a pastor also….

In reality those are activities that are entrusted to leaders who exhibit certain character traits.

Besides, if I have a choice between a mean spirited jerk who may be right about some things or a Christ like kind hearted people lover who may be wrong about some things, I’ll take the latter…since no one has a perfect theology and, in some sense, we’re all heretics in one way or another.
